Our Beginning
Our founder, Jim Lehman, was raised on his family’s dairy operation, LJL Farm—established by his grandfather and father. Growing up working on the farm, Jim experienced the many highs and lows that come with agriculture and livestock, gaining invaluable life lessons along the way. In 2015, drawing on his deep-rooted agricultural background, Jim founded J. Lehman Transport with a clear vision: to deliver high-quality livestock feed. This mission led to a strong and lasting partnership with Kalmbach Feeds, which has continued to thrive over the past decade. Jim’s commitment to the agriculture and livestock community extends beyond business. Both he and J. Lehman Transport actively support the rural community of West Branch, Michigan, with a strong focus on youth development in agriculture and livestock programs.

Our Home Base
Our state-of-the-art maintenance shop is fully equipped with a service pit and all the essential tools and equipment required for comprehensive semi-truck upkeep. It serves not only as a top-tier facility for vehicle maintenance, but also as a supportive home base where employees have access to valuable resources for both their trucks and personal well-being. More than just a workplace, the shop fosters a strong sense of community—hosting regular company events and creating opportunities for team members and ownership to connect as a family. Employees are also welcome to use the shop for their own needs, reinforcing a culture of trust, respect, and mutual support.
